Mango Lassi: Essence of Summer

Serves 1–25 minutesDairy-free

During my visit to India this summer, I had the pleasure of indulging in an abundance of mangoes. Inspired by my time there and the sheer delight of this fruit, I created this smoothie.

Mangoes have always been one of my favorite fruits. They have a rich history dating back over 5,000 years, originating in South Asia, and spread around the world through trade and exploration. They're packed with vitamins C and A, fiber and antioxidants, which support a healthy immune system, good digestion and overall well-being.

Lassi is an ancient yogurt-based drink from India. It's refreshing and perfect for hot weather, and it comes in many flavors, sweet or salty with spices.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium ripe mango, chopped
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1½ cups unsweetened coconut yogurt
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 Tbsp rose water
  • Water as needed

Directions

Blend all the ingredients together and enjoy.

I hope you make it and savor the taste of summer. Tag me on Instagram @_divgupta when you do, so I can follow along.
